The first part of this essay will provide a brief overview of the cryosphere’s composition and its dynamics. We will then examine the planet’s main ice-sheets, Antarctica and Greenland, and assess their impact on sea level rise. This will then be compared to the contribution of glaciers and ice caps, as well as the effects of sea ice.
